„Working“, das englischsprachige Album der ungarischen Kultband von 1981 nach 40 Jahren erstmals auf CD erhältlich! OMEGA aus Ungarn wurde 1962 gegründet und ist die mit Abstand bekannteste Rockformation Ungarns! Bis heute haben sie mehr als 20 Alben sowohl in ungarischer als auch in englischer Sprache veröffentlicht. Nach diversen Umbesetzungen in den ersten Jahren stand ab 1971 die klassische Besetzung für die nächsten 40 Jahre fest. Sänger Janos Kabor ist seit 1962 dabei, Keyboarder Lazlo Benko war ebenfalls seit 1962 bis zu seinem Tode 2020 in der Band. Gitarrist György Molnar und Trommler Ferenc Debreczeni stießen 1976 zu Omega genau wie Bassist Tamas Mihaly, der bis 2017 dabei war und ebenfalls 2020 verstarb. Im Laufe ihrer Karriere konnte die Band zahlreiche nationale und internationale Auszeichnungen entgegennehmen und wurden zu DEM Rockaushängeschild Ungarns! Aber OMEGA war nicht nur im Osten Europas eine sehr erfolgreiche Band, sondern sie hatten auch im Westen eine große Anhängerschar, da sie mehrere ihrer Alben auch in englischer Sprache herausbrachten. So zählen die von dem Frankfurter Peter Hauke für das deutsche Label Bellaphon produzierten Alben „Time Robber“, „The Hall Of Floaters In The Sky“ oder „Gammapolis“ zu Klassikern des Progressive Rock. Hauke schaffte es auch 1981 wieder, die Band nach Frankfurt zu holen, um mit ihnen das Album „Working“ in englischer Sprache einzuspielen. Bei der Erstellung der Texte unterstützte der seit langem in Deutschland lebende Musiker Tony Carey die Band. „Working“ beruht in großen Teilen auf Songs des ungarischen Bandalbums „Az Arc“ aus demselben Jahr. Für die damalige Zeit typisch ist der auffallend häufige Einsatz von Synthesizern, die Titel wirken kompakt und griffig. „Working“ erschien aber nicht mehr bei Bellaphon sondern bei der WEA. Sireena Records ist stolz darauf, mit der CD-Version von „Working“ eine Lücke im Gesamtkatalog der Band zu schließen, nach 40 Jahren war das wirklich fällig!
