Produktinformationen " Orion ltd 3LP tri-fold cover clear vinyl + poster"
Following on the heels of Phideaux Xavier’s return from a long hibernation with "AutoMoto Animus" comes "Orion", an archival live triple album recorded at one of a handful of concerts performed in support of the recently released "Snowtorch". Capturing Phideaux and his 10-piece band at the height of their mystical and musical powers, "Orion" presents the group in full flight, bringing the elaborate music of "Snowtorch", "Doomsday Afternoon" and "Number Seven" to the stage with an energy and abandon all its own.

about...
I remember with great fondness the days leading up to our performance
At Orion Studios in Baltimore
We were treated wonderfully by Mike Potter, the studio’s owner and a true music aficionado
His space has hosted so many remarkable artists before us
It felt less like arriving for a gig and more like being welcomed into a tradition
For four days we set up, adjusted, and rehearsed
Not in the usual hurried way, but with time enough to listen
Typically, we prepare for months
Only to arrive at a festival where twenty minutes of line check stands between us and the show
Here, we were able to dial in our sound, become familiar with the room
And let the music settle into the space before sharing it
As with any live recording, there are technical considerations
Our musical foundation that night was strong
But the intimacy of the room meant some of the vocal microphones inevitably captured the drums
When everyone was singing, the result veered toward the sound of a bootleg
In the end, we chose to replace a few vocal passages
Not to alter the performance
But simply to present it as it was intended to be heard
This recording is a snapshot of a particular moment in tim
After Snowtorch, when we were performing as a ten-piece band
Gathering once or twice a year at festivals
Watching the music evolve beyond its studio origins
It is a pleasure to finally share them in this more developed form
A Phideaux record is often expected to be an intricate, carefully rendered creation
This, too, has been given that same level of care
Only here, the source is a living performance
We hope you hear both the precision and the spirit of that night at Orion Studios
And that you enjoy this glimpse of the music
As it was becoming something new
